Taxpayer Advocate Ensen Mason scored a critical victory April 19, 2018 in court against appointed incumbent San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector Oscar Valdez. On that day, the San Bernardino County Superior Court officially ruled in favor of Ensen and against appointed incumbent Valdez on Valdez’ lawsuit challenging Ensens’s ballot designation as Taxpayer Advocate/CPA.

Career bureaucrat Valdez resorted to the extreme measure of challenging his opponent’s ballot designation in a desperate attempt to avoid letting taxpayers know that Ensen is their candidate. The Judge slapped down Valdez challenge, and ruled Ensen Mason’s ballot designation of Taxpayer Advocate/CPA is legally correct in a devastating blow to Valdez’ hopes to cling to the office he was appointed to in a backroom deal by politicians.
